essentials of asana: a deepen your practice preview workshop
August 30th /11am- 1pm
If you’ve ever wondered what a yoga teacher training would be like, this is an opportunity to sample without commitment. This two hour workshop is a preview of some of our study—some essential asana, their function & how they work; & what yoga is beyond a stretching regimen.
If you sign on for the workshop and decide to pursue further training, 50HR or 200HR, the hours and the fee will be applied to the tuition. If you’re a yoga teacher who just wants to join us for a couple hours of refresher study, the class will offer CEU credit.

200HR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING
our goal is to train qualified, caring teachers WHO ARE ABLE TO TEACH A RANGE OF STUDENTS WITH CONFIDENCE, UNDERSTANDING, & compassion.
The mission of Strongheart Yoga has always been to bring the beauty & benefits of yoga to everyone, in “every body”. From our beginning in 2011, we’ve emphasized making yoga accessible to all and not an intimidating practice for the few. With that guiding principle in mind, we’ve designed our Teacher Training Program to train teachers who can walk into any situation and teach with confidence—-whether the student is the freshest yoga beginner or an experienced practitioner seeking a challenge. And we want every future teacher to find their own voice & know better where they want their own yoga journey to go.
Finding our words and our voice.
Following the Foundational 50 hours of training, which delve into the philosophy & ideas of yoga as we learn the basics of the poses, Part Two of the training will concentrate on Learning to Teach:
● Vinyasa Krama: Learning the principles of designing & sequencing effective classes
● Teaching Methods & Practice Teaching: How to cue and lead posture and meditation practices
● Finding Your Own Voice & Confidence As A Teacher
● Teaching Ethics: Understanding the ethics of teaching yoga and how we show respect to traditional practices while still
connecting them to the modern evolution of the practice
● Special Practices: Brief introductions to teaching Yin Yoga, Chair Yoga, Prenatal, and Restorative Yoga.
Our Anatomy Study will be an independent online study combined with classroom study & in person support, to meet the current YA requirement of 30 hours of anatomy learning.
The combination of studio classes, online classes, and supplemental recorded video content has been planned to make learning both effective & convenient. Together the elements of the program provide flexibility, rigor, and support in a program small enough to offer every student personal attention and encouragement.
Our part two classes will meet on 8 weekends from December to February:
Dec 14, 15 / Dec 11, 12 / Jan 8,9 / Jan 15, 16 / Jan 22, 23 / Feb 5, 6 / Feb 12, 13 / Feb 19, 20
Our curriculum includes all of the 200-hour certification components for Yoga Alliance. Upon completion of requirements, students are qualified to register with Yoga Alliance as a RYT-200 level teacher.

”I really enjoyed the teachings and the structure. I read a lot of reviews for different teacher trainings before hand
and a lot of people said they wouldn't feel comfortable teaching afterwards. I still have more to learn of course but
I do think that the way it's laid out gives enough information to start planning and teaching classes.”
~Jenna Sassin RYT

from the program instructor
“Over my 25 years of consistent yoga practice, I have felt yoga’s power to keep me grounded and at ease with who I most truly am. And with almost 20 years of teaching others, I’ve seen yoga awaken people to what’s possible for them when they break out of time-worn physical and mental habits that aren’t serving them. Teaching and studying yoga is an exchange between individuals searching for answers to our most fundamental human questions. I’m so honored to be a step on the journey of so many bright souls. ”
